Celebration of Writing!
We are having a Celebration of Writing on Thursday September 27th in the Learning Commons from 2:15 - 3:00pm. We will be sharing the work we have done in our first writing unit of the year! Published means public not perfect and we cannot wait to show you the work we have been doing!
Spelling
We had a good first week of spelling and our kids really wowed me in their assessments! Please continue to work with your kids at home on their words and their patterns. Watch for list #2 coming home on Tuesday.
Facts Friday
We had a great first Facts Friday and we now know which basic facts we need to work on! I strongly encourage 10 minutes of multiplication facts practice at home each night using games, flashcards or online games. In class we will be starting with 0,1,5, and 10s facts for a quick review and then move on to the more challenging fact families. Any encouragement and support you can give your child at home with this is much appreciated!
Reading Logs
Thanks to everyone who has been doing such a great job of bringing their Reading logs back and forth. It provides us with valuable information about our reading and will help us set goals for ourselves. Please make sure you are reading 20 minutes at home each day and mark it on your calendar.
